A short dance film made during my Spring 2026 semester in CHORECINEMA, a course exploring the interplay of dance, film, and live performance.
Intent Description:
Move the Loop began with a simple question: What does it feel like to truly discover your body? The concept traces a journey from the smallest, most intimate movements —outward into full-bodied expression and, eventually, into connection with another person. The camera follows this structural progression, opening in an extreme close-up and slowly pulling back as the dancer's awareness expands.
The emotional core was inspired by the famous running sequence in Leos Carax's Mauvais Sang — that idea that movement is not performance but release, the body finally answering something it had been holding. The connection the dancers find through movement is, at its root, the discovery of love: first in themselves, then in each other. When you move, it fits. Like hands finding another hand.
